I watched the sunrise in your eyes, but yet your tears fall like rain. I hear your heartbeat like a well-played drum, yet the sound is so distant. Your beautiful smiles bring me joy on unmentionable heights. But I see sadness in the tilt of your smile as if it was forced, to cover up my worries. When I hug you, I feel warmth of a child’s love, but a hug so tight as if you are afraid to let go.
The years may come and go, like the sunrise and set carrying it away. My love will never wither, yet I will stand and be your foundation. On that you can take off from, land on, and hold you up. The storms may come and go, leaving a mark in the minds it touched for history, to only be told by their lips. I will be that shelter to keep you safe, I may not be able to shelter it all but….. I will wipe away your tears, give you strength to fight it back. I will be your Advisor, give you some words for comfort in the time of these storms. The Doctor when you are sick, and can’t find the strength to go on. Your pillow when you need someone to cry on. Your ears, when you want someone to listen. “I’m sorry sometime, my advice gets in the way of my ears…” I am your best friend when you need someone to hang out with, and you just want to be the you I’ve always known you to be…… You need to know…. I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN, because I will always love you pass yourself; I will love you know matter how many mistakes you have made. I will always have arms to hold you, hands to wipe away your tears, and goofiness to make you laugh no matter how old you are.
When you walk in the door, I smile as the sunset behind you, because I have my daughters another day, and not lost in yesterday or it’s unforgiven memories.
Love Always….
“Your Proud Parent”
